TRAGS 1182-1

Episode 1182

“What?”

Raon turned his head to the side to look back at Envy.

“You’re more drawn to Martha, not Burren?”

Back when they were trainees, Burren had become the embodiment of jealousy, observing every move Raon made and constantly challenging him.

He’d displayed even more intense jealousy than Musten, so Raon thought it wouldn’t be hard at all for Burren to be chosen by Envy, no matter how much he’d grown.

But Envy licked her lips as if it was Martha, not Burren, who attracted her more.

He was a little taken aback since he hadn’t even considered a connection between Martha and Envy.

“Honestly, if we’re talking about pure jealousy, that magician girl over there is the one.”

Envy pointed at Evelyn, who was smiling next to Martha.

“There’s such a strong scent of jealousy from her it gives me chills. The real deal, too.”

She licked her lips, saying Evelyn alone was qualified to be her apostle.

“But that girl’s already tainted with filthy lust, so I don’t care to give her my power.”

Envy furrowed her brow, as if not on good terms with Lust.

“I can handle it, though?”

Evelyn curled her red lips as if she could handle taking on jealousy herself.

“I don’t like you. And you can’t receive my power.”

Envy snorted harshly.

“If you hadn’t taken Lust’s <Lust>, you might’ve been able to receive my power, but now that <Lust> has settled in you, if you also gain my jealousy, your soul will crumple and burst.”

She shook her head fiercely, saying no matter how transcendent a mage Evelyn had become, she couldn’t take the power of two demon lords.

“Didn’t Raon receive several powers?”

Evelyn pointed a finger at Raon.

“This guy is different.”

Envy frowned as she looked at Raon. Her expression kept changing as if she couldn’t believe it herself.

“He’s different from humans and from demon lords. By all rights he should have died ages ago—his body and soul should’ve been shattered—but alas, damn Ras, who knows where he got such a vessel….”

Envy clicked her tongue, saying only Raon across all dimensions could have produced such a result.

“Anyway, Ras is the problem.”

Even as she cursed Ras for Raon’s abnormal abilities, she stomped her foot.

-Why….

Ras’s small fist trembled.

-Why am I getting cursed at again! I really did nothing this time!

Although he was doing nothing, repeatedly being blamed made him shout out in frustration.

“That’s enough of the side talk.”

Raon reached his hand between Envy and Evelyn.

“So you mean you can pass your power to Martha?”

He pointed at Martha, who stood blankly in the back.

“Honestly, what I sense in her isn’t so much jealousy as another emotion.”

Envy looked Martha up and down, scratching her snow-white chin.

“Another emotion?”

“Competitive spirit.”

Her eyes flashed sharply like a swordsman.

“That girl’s competitive drive is on another level—the likes of which I’ve never seen before.”

Envy twisted a lock of green hair around her finger.

“The drive to fight those stronger than herself and to approach their strength resembles my jealousy enough that there’s plenty to take advantage of.”

She licked her lips again, saying Martha’s competitive spirit looked very useful indeed.

“Competitive spirit, huh…”

Raon nodded slightly as he turned to Martha.

‘In that respect, there’s no one who can rival Martha.’

From childhood, Martha had shown the determination never to lose to anyone, and she’d worked tirelessly to catch up all the way.

No, even now, it was clear she hadn’t given up and was still trying to catch up.

Her competitive drive, nurtured since her trainee days, had grown to the point of reaching Envy, the demon lord of jealousy.

‘Come to think of it, I’ve received Envy’s power too, but it didn’t awaken as jealousy.’

He, too, had gained an emotion from Envy, but the power had awakened as adoration—a positive feeling. It seemed Martha was a similar case.

-Exactly!

Ras clapped so loudly it made Raon’s ears ring.

-I, the king, also admit beef girl’s competitive spirit.

He nodded vigorously, saying if competitive spirit were personified, it would be Martha.

‘I’m a bit disappointed about Burren, but it can’t be helped.’

He had thought Burren would be a perfect fit for the power of jealousy, so he felt a bit bad.

But then again, since Martha now had a chance to grow, maybe it wasn’t a bad thing.

“Martha.”

Raon beckoned Martha, who was standing behind him.

“You get the gist, don’t you?”

Since she’d seen what happened with Dorian, Evelyn, and Runan, he didn’t bother with a long explanation and called Martha forward.

“You know how even just Runan keeps getting stronger, right?”

Martha nodded calmly, as if she already understood everything.

“Right. This is Envy, demon lord of jealousy. She says she’s interested in your competitive spirit.”

Raon introduced Envy to Martha and drew out the emotion of jealousy that lay dormant in her soul.

“The demon lord of jealousy is interested in my competitive spirit?”

Martha tilted her head, as if asking what he meant.

“Runan fits really well with <Sloth> from the demon lord of sloth, Sloth, but you don’t have to be completely true to that feeling. I also awakened jealousy as adoration.”

Taking his own case as an example, Raon explained to Martha about the demon lord’s emotions.

“I see.”

Martha nodded as if she’d understood everything with just that simple explanation.

“Competitive spirit…”

Burren, listening to the explanation along with Martha, clenched his fist so hard it nearly bled. He looked disappointed that Martha, not himself, had been chosen for her competitive spirit.

“Alright. I’ll accept it.”

Martha nodded heavily, ready to give it a try.

“Honestly, it really p*ssed me off that that idiot Runan just keeps sleeping and getting stronger!”

She pressed her lips together, wanting to borrow the demon lord’s power and become stronger even faster herself.
